Shyamli Milam

Shyamli Milam is a co-founder and Partner of Perennial, where she is responsible for overseeing all activities related to portfolio research and analysis. Prior to founding Perennial Advisors, Shyamli was the Director of Research at Perennial Investors, a long-biased equity hedge fund. She began her career in the Investment Banking division at Bear Stearns. Shyamli holds a degree in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania (Wharton School), where she was a Joseph Wharton Scholar and graduated summa cum laude. Shyamli is a member of the KiDS at NYU Langone Board and Christodora and Row New York Boards. She lives in New York City with her husband and three children.

As an immigrant working mother with three daughters and roots on three continents, helping girls with these important issues are a cause that resonates with Shyamli deeply and on many levels. She is excited to be a part of Girls Global Health and the Advisory Board.

Cassi Torres

Cassi Torres is a NYC-based voice expert specializing in Musical Theatre, Jazz, Pop, & Children’s Voices. She is the owner of Cassi Torres Music Studio, a global online community and learning studio for singers of all levels, and the co-founder of RISE Vocal Intensive – a voice and leadership training program for teens. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Music from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, and Masters of Music in Vocal Performance-Music Theatre, as well as an Advanced Certificate in Vocal Pedagogy from New York University.

Previously, she served as Adjunct Faculty at New York University's Steinhardt School and was a Professional Assistant Professor of Music at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, teaching private and group voice classes and music history courses. She is currently part of the voice faculty with the Brooklyn Youth Chorus and Dr. Brian Gill’s Mindful Voice Training.

As a performer, Cassi’s credits include commercials, TV and film work, Off-Broadway theatre, and orchestral concert solos. She has also appeared in jazz and cabaret night clubs around NYC, with Star Wars: In Concert, and at the Kennedy Center as a backup singer for Grammy-Nominated Artist Chandrika Tandon.

Cass is so proud to be working with Girls Global Health. She believes strongly in their mission to empower young girls with the tools and health care necessary to make an impact in their communities, and in turn, our world.
