Meet Dr. Kiran Modi

I recently had the pleasure of interviewing Dr. Kiran Modi, Founder and Managing Trustee of Udayan Care. In the summer of 2019, I had a unique opportunity to teach girls ages 7-17 at Udayan Ghar in Noida, India, one of Udayan Care’s 17 homes and 2 aftercare units for orphaned and abandoned children and youth across four states in India. Along with provision of all the essentials that are needed in life, the homes help children deal with the stresses they’ve suffered on their mental and physical health. Since its establishment in 1996, Udayan Care has spread its work for disadvantaged children by establishing more homes, giving children and youth in the community access to education, vocational training and employability skills.

Meet Sydney Leach

I am very excited to share my insightful interview with Sydney Leach, a birth doula at Soulful Summit Doula. She is based out of Denver, CO, USA. She has been doing doula work since June of 2020, and works both privately and in a freestanding birth center. She loves the outdoors, and you can often find her hiking, road biking, or rock climbing. She also plays guitar, reads birth books (and novels!), volunteers in her local NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit), and is a high school student!

She has completed multiple trainings, including birth doula workshops run by both DONA and Birth Matters, Trauma Informed Care seminars, Miscarriage and Stillbirth competency, and anti-racism summits.
